Klaroline is a traditional vampire romance with a modern day twist. Like Dracula, Klaus is the thing nightmares are made of. He is a villian because unlike some other vampires, Klaus fully embraces his nature. Yet, even so he finds that he has grown to care for this one girl. Just like Dracula!
I effing love them so damn much. Klaroline is the kind of thing you’d seen in an Anne Rice novel.
This to me is proof that Klaroline is the better story to tell.
And like Damon said. Anne Rice got it right!
Okay I obviously ship Klaroline but it’s a very strange comparison because Mina was never in love with Dracula and sure as hell neither was he in love with her. I’m just tired of people romantisizing Bram Stoker’s novel because of latest adaptations. All characters there loved Mina in their own way. All but Dracula. Because classical aka Stoker’s vampires aren’t really capable of that kind of loving. And classical Mina was little more than a tool for Dracula and while there were times she felt sorry for him or more like for his poor human soul never once it was implied there were any romantic feelings. Because there weren’t. There couldn’t be.
I get that you meant Anne Rice by classical and in the light of her books I can see your reasoning, but “Mina to his Dracula” just… bugged me. :)
